Elements of Expression: Handbuilding Foundations - 4 Wk Beginners Pottery Course (Ages 15+)
Looking for a creative outlet that feels relaxing, hands-on, and totally mess-free at home?
These private clay lessons are like Claytime for Beginners! Designed for those who want to explore handbuilding without needing their own studio, tools, or storage space. You simply show up once a week, sink into the rhythm of working with clay, and leave the clean-up to the studio.
Over the course of 4 weeks, you’ll learn the foundations of handbuilding through approachable techniques like slab work, molds, and pinch-pot construction. Together we’ll create pieces such as platters, bowls, mugs, or small sculptural works—perfect for personal enjoyment or meaningful handmade gifts.
What You’ll Learn & Create
By the end of our 4 weeks together, you will have:
Built a strong understanding of the early stages of working with greenware clay—how to shape it, refine it, and support it through the drying process so your piece is successful in the kiln.
Gained a clear overview of the ceramic firing journey, including what happens during the bisque and glaze stages.
Created 3–5 finished pieces that reflect your growing skill, creative curiosity, and personal style.
