Megan Tyler
| Yoga & Trapeze |

(Owner of Free Expression Studio - Collaborative Storefront)
Megan Tyler was born and raised locally in Sunnyside, moved to Seattle in 2009 to attend the University of Washington where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts and Communications. Possibly better known in association to her creative ventures through Free Expression Studio - Megan Tyler is a Mindfulness Guide specializing in yoga, breath work, meditation and artistic expression. Combining these tools within her teachings, she aims to share ways in which you can cultivate deeper connections internally and externally while discovering how to live a more mindful life.

Megan’s journey with yoga started with practicing hot yoga in 2012 - An athlete most of her life, she never would have thought this practice would become what it is to her today! Finding it at a time in her life when in need of self-acceptance, healing and growth most, it quickly became more than just exercise; Over the years finding love, forgiveness, compassion and so much more while on her mat. Yoga itself is an amazing teacher if you let it be! With a personal practice of almost 10 years in the making her teaching journey officially got its start in March 2019 with a RYT-200 certification in Vinyasa followed by becoming a Certified Breath Coach® and certified in Yoga Trapeze® in May of 2020. Inspired to share through her teachings the shifts she’s felt through this practice, if only hoping to support her students in finding themselves a little bit at a time, whole once again.

Sara Hazzard
| Yoga & Trapeze |

(Owner and founder of Free Spirit Yoga & Trapeze)
Sara Hazzard is the owner and has been the primary instructor at Free Spirit Yoga and Trapeze for over 5 years. Her practice has been almost 7 years in the making and started as a simple fun date which ended up a place of peace and refuge. In yoga, she found a much needed place to escape her mind. Sara had always enjoyed exercise, but yoga provided more than just a workout. She found it to be personally medicinal: it increased her mood, eased her mind, and relieved tight muscles due to sitting at a desk all day.

Sara spent 10 years in the Washington Army National Guard where she became a Master Fitness Trainer in 2016. As a result of this experience, she found enjoyment leading group fitness, yet it wasn’t exactly what she hoped to do as her life’s work. Seeking a rich life experience, Sara attended and was certified through Yoga Teachers College in Barcelona, Spain in January of 2018, earning her 200 hour RYT certification. In March of 2018, Sara finished a 50 hour Yoga Trapeze Teacher Training Certification also through Yoga Teachers College.

When she left the Military in June of 2018, Sara came back to Prosser where she was born and raised. Sara saw a need for Yoga in the lower valley, and she is excited to be able to share this passion with the community!

Where is all started…

Sara Hazzard was the founder and primary instructor at Free Spirit Yoga and Trapeze for over 4years. In yoga, she found a much needed place to escape her mind and a place of peace and refuge. Sara has always enjoyed exercise, but yoga provided more than just a workout. She found it to be personally medicinal: it increased her mood, eased her mind, and relieved tight muscles due to sitting at a desk all day.

Before Megan even made her move back to the area after living 10 years in Seattle, she attended classes at Free Spirit Yoga & Trapeze as a student with her mom trying the Trapeze for the first time, falling in love with the added twist to her practice! She quickly recognized the power of community at this studio and felt right at home.

Sara soon welcomed Megan in to host her first ever Meditate & Create workshops in 2019 after being newly certified as a yoga teacher giving her the chance to share her love for not only yoga but artistic practices as well.

Fast forward through some major changes in both their lives and there has been no denying that the Universe brought Free Expression Studio and Free Spirit Yoga & Trapeze together for a specific reason - aligning in our values to create a space for movement, mindfulness and community.

Prosser, WA is a small town with big heart - the need for movement and mindfulness resources was apparent in the surrounding area and this magical team of soul sisters stepped up to the answer the call with open hearts.

As life usually does, twist and turns came our way starting with the COVID-19 pandemic and since then we’ve had to evolve a few times over in order to find a sweet spot to sustain our studio space upstairs.

So we decided to team up with fellow instructors from our community and surrounding areas to absorb the responsibilities of running a space like this… we are setting out on our newfound adventure and are so thrilled to see what comes next!

Whatever your reason and whatever your intention, we’re here to help you get the most out of your wellness experience.
